One propagates the ideas of blasting the audience until one becomes insensitive or one turn into a buyer. There is another school of thought that cajoles you to build relationship with your audience and treat them the way you will treat your better half. Which of the two schools of marketing thoughts do you agree with?

Before you show your loyalty to one and thrash the other one calling it a complete waste of money, I must tell you that neither of the two is wrong, and either of the two could be dangerous. It all depends upon your approach, and how you handle the tool. Let me throw some more light on the two schools to help you make informed decision on the marketing tool to use.

“Long sales page is what cut it for us”

This is the view of old school of marketing who believes in the power of mass media advertising, long sales letter, and multiple direct mail copies. Marketers subscribing to this school of thought believe in handling all the customers’ objection through a elaborate sales page. They are of the view that they get only one chance and limited opportunity to influence customers’ decisions, and they should use it to maximum.

Sales cycle is often shorter here. People either buy or they don’t from marketers of this school.

“We are close buddy. We will not sell you”

This is what the other camp of marketers believes in. Marketers swearing by “relationship first” maxim often lead you in believing that they have your best interest in their hearts, and no matter what they will not try to sell you anything. It is only when you have spent some time with them that they start recommending (read selling) products to you.

Sales cycle for this kind of marketing ranges from long to very long. People, because they trust this group, often buy more than one product from them.

Which side are you on?

So, which group of marketers do you belong to? The “long sales copy” one or the relationship one? As said earlier, there is nothing right or wrong about the either of the two. It all depends upon how you use it.

For me, I believe in both of them.

PPC Headline Writing Tips http://itlist.com/ppc-headline-writing-tips-2/ http://itlist.com/ppc-headline-writing-tips-2/#comments Sat, 06 Nov 2010 16:50:00 +0000 bikram http://itlist.com/ppc-headline-writing-tips-2/ Companies are waking up to the potential of pay per click (PPC) marketing, which has given rise to number of bids that a keyword receives. Because of which the average cost of a PPC campaign has gone up. So generating qualified clicks only become more critical for the success of a campaign. This calls for a heroic copywriting skill.

More than ever, the PPC ad writers now has to concentrate on making the ad tighter and crispier. He or she has to use 25 or so words given by search engines in such a way that a PPC ad makes only desirable searchers click the link. This is a challenge which can be surpassed, and this as well as the next article will help you do that.

How to write killing PPC Headline

Length of a headline

A headline is the most important part of an advertisement, as this is the part of a PPC ad that attracts viewers’ attention. For a Pay per Click advertisement, a rule of thumb should be to use a headline that is not more than 5 words.

My personal recommendation on this matter is 4 words.

Call to action

The goal of a headline is to attract attention, so let’s stick to that. Do not include call to action line or hot button in your headline. It will make you sound too needy. Keep this for the body where it will work better.

Keyword insertion

If you have 2 or more-words keyword phrase then you can alter the length of your headline to make it 5 words, but when doing so, always remember to keep the non-keyword words shorter. If you are going to use dynamic keyword insertion then make sure your headline reads well with the keyword options you are bidding for. It should not sound weird with any of the keywords.

Try to keep the keyword at the beginning of the headline.

Word selection

The non-keyword words that you will insert in the headline should be emotionally charged, as all the decisions are emotional. No one is ration out there.

Following these tips when writing a PPC ad could be challenging at first, but soon you will get hold of it. After which, writing a PPC headline will be all downhill.

This brings us to the end of this article on PPC headline writing tips, in the next article I will talk about the body part.

How to Become a Strong Woman? http://itlist.com/how-to-become-a-strong-woman/ http://itlist.com/how-to-become-a-strong-woman/#comments Mon, 27 Sep 2010 17:09:10 +0000 bikram http://itlist.com/how-to-become-a-strong-woman/ World has always remained male dominated and male driven. Where power comes naturally to men, women have to acquire it, fight for it, and become really strong to find a space for herself in this world. A strong woman is the one who believes in herself, stays independent, respects herself, and takes decisions herself. She lives life, doesn’t survive merely. Many of us wish to be like that, but don’t know how. Here are some guidelines to get you into the shoes of a strong woman.

Know yourself

Take out time for yourself. Sit alone and analyze yourself. Try to know your ‘true’ self, who you are in real inside a human body. Try to explore your spiritual being. It will not only make your vision clear but will also lend you a good understanding of life. Spiritual understanding will help you to understand the deepest truths, explore true knowledge, and fetch ultimate wisdom. This will make you wiser, immaterialist, and omnipotent. Meditate, read books on spirituality, visit relevant sites on Internet. You should know what you want in life. Fix your goal and work towards it.

Love and depend on yourself

Love yourself, as it’s you who will be with your shadow forever. People may give you shoulder to lean upon, but no one is eternal. At the end of the day, it’s you, all alone. Be self-reliant. That’s emotional maturity. The day you stop depending on others, expecting from others you are a strong individual. Take care of yourself. Do everything yourself and fulfill emotional needs too. Meditate and pray often.

Be financially independent

Independence starts with financial freedom. Earn for yourself. Pay your bills, rent, food, household finances, shopping. Maintain own bank account. It not only makes one independent, but also increases self-confidence and courage. Financial dependence on others makes us weak, indebted and parasite. A strong woman is the one who’s capable of looking after herself. Find job or do something which you are good at and capable of doing. If money earning asks for some specific education or skill, go and learn that. There’s no end to learning.

Be honest to yourself

You may lie to the whole world. But don’t lie to yourself. Admit your weaknesses. Accept yourself the way you are. You may admire someone and get motivated, but don’t try to be a copied version. It will make you frustrated. You may have potential which no one else has. Realize that.

Follow your heart

A strong woman takes independent decisions, follows her own heart. Do what makes you happy. Entire world may reject your choice, but if you believe in it follow it. Don’t forget, it’s your life, you should live it the way you wish to. You are supposed to be happy. It’s not being selfish.

Go, the world is all yours. Walk with your chin up.

Can You Work From Home? http://itlist.com/can-you-work-from-home/ http://itlist.com/can-you-work-from-home/#comments Tue, 15 Sep 2009 19:43:52 +0000 SamElli http://itlist.com/?p=1690 Thinking about pursuing a work at home opportunity?  Don’t really know where to start?  Well before you think about where you could go on the internet or otherwise to find jobs, consider if you’re even the work at home type.  Working from home you’re really your own boss, and so you have to  be able to manage your time as such.   Which means the first thing to consider is whether or not you’re a procrastinator.

If you find yourself waiting till the last minute to accomplish tasks, working from home may not be for you.  You need to effectively manage your time.  The last thing you’d want is to be up against a deadline that looms ever closer, that you shouldn’t have to worry about.   If you don’t think you’ll be able to manage your time without a boss checking in every once in a while, this may not be the career for you.

Make sure that you have the space in your home to create an adequate working environment.  You don’t want to be converting an area like your living room, or bedroom.  Both are full of distractions and can lead you to unintentionally losing focus when working.  You  have to ensure that you have the room to make your own office.  A place where you can be free from non-work related distractions.  A sanctuary of at home production to where you can always accomplish your goals.

Also, you need to be a very self motivated person.  You have to make a lot of decisions for yourself when you work at home.  You only have yourself to fall back on, which means you have to keep yourself positive and goal focused.  Part of that is avoiding the temptation to get personal tasks done when you’re supposed to be working.  Try to avoid household chores or things you wanted to get done while you’re working.  This will lead to longer term distractions which can lead to major procrastination on your part.  That is absolutely always bad.
