Well, saying is easy but often found difficult in real for those who start their day in an average way with stress of work. Start it with a fresh mind, fresh endeavor so that your entire day falls into place and you even go to bed at night with a cheerful spirit. Start each day with a fresh gush of energy. Just follow these few simple tips.

Green is truly evergreen

Green is a color depicting youth, life and newness. Once you wake up from the bed, look for some green plants around you. It’s always advised to have some plants in and around the house. Step out to your terrace or balcony and see the green trees in front. If there’s a park in front of you there’s nothing like it. Green rejuvenates, brings lot of freshness in life. It also keeps eyes good.

Little bit of exercise

A healthy and happy mind resides in a fit body only. So exercise every morning. It will not only keep you fit and active but also in shape. If you like yourself on the mirror, naturally you will be happy. You may hit a fitness center or aerobic and dance classes or practice yoga. Do whichever suits you and you like to. You may simply watch some video tutorials of experts and practice at home. Make sure the ambience is good, fosters freshness. If you have a nice backyard garden or terrace, do exercise there. Being close to nature, it will make you feel better all the more.

Breakfast of your choice

If tummy is happy you are happy too. Start your day with a lovely wholesome breakfast. When we rush to work half fed we start a day with negative thoughts already. So make sure you grab a good wholesome breakfast everyday. If you don’t get much time to prepare, you may prepare it before and store in fridge or grab some ready to eat ones. But a healthy nice start will make you happy. Make sure you don’t grab the same breakfast in all days of a week. Treat yourself with different breakfasts each day.

How to Become Organized? http://itlist.com/how-to-become-organized/ http://itlist.com/how-to-become-organized/#comments Wed, 27 Oct 2010 16:46:00 +0000 bikram http://itlist.com/how-to-become-organized/ Who doesn’t wish to be organized in life? Many of us take pledges of becoming organized, everyday. But only few actually manage to become organized. But if one gets into the habit of staying organized, life becomes much smoother and easier. Who wants to keep searching for a pen in the house when needed, and finding it after 3 days from the cupboard? It’s not only inconvenient but also very frustrating. Whereas, by staying little bit organized, one can not only stay at ease, but also emotionally balanced and grounded. They are capable of managing time better, stay in a cheerful de-stressed mood forever. They don’t feel insecure or imbalanced. An organized place looks warm, clean, relaxing and happy.

Here are some tips about getting organized.

Start connecting things

Start making mental connections. Organizing things is a mental process. Start treating similar objects as a group. As for example, suppose you are shifting to a new house. While packing your stuff keep kitchen equipments together in a box. All glass items which are breakable could be in one box. Put all woolen clothes in a box. This way, you are actually memorizing things which are similar in nature or by any other reference. You could also group things of same material or color or size. Start grouping and connecting things in your mind.

Divide things

Just similar to the process of assembling or connecting, you can also divide things into separate entities. If you have a huge database of names, you could divide them alphabetically into different sections. And then put them into different folders, with alphabets of names written on top. Too many things together need segregation into many parts. It gets easier to remember.

Keep things in their own place

Don’t keep shifting place of things, it will confuse you and make you forget when needed. So make sure a book is in the book shelf only, money is in the wallet. If you use a thing, place it back where it was initially. If a thing is in its actual position for long, it becomes memorized and habituated to.

Re-sort things often

Even if you are super organized, with time things get scattered, mixed and cluttered. Such situation calls for re-sorting and re-arrangement. New clothes get mixed with the old ones, gadgets pile up, shoes get stored one on the other and such situations calls for re-arrangement and re-sorting.

Get rid of stuffs

At times one needs to get rid of not so important or obsolete old stuffs, to make space for the new upcoming ones. If something has been part of your life since long but has no such meaning in present term, get rid of it. You need not be sentimental about it.

Earning Money With A Free Blog http://itlist.com/earning-money-with-a-free-blog/ http://itlist.com/earning-money-with-a-free-blog/#comments Wed, 06 Jan 2010 20:34:46 +0000 SamElli http://itlist.com/?p=2161 Practically everyone has a free blog by now.  Most of us blog as a hobby, or out of a need to express something to the outside world.  But have you ever thought about turning that into a source of passive income?  The free blog that you keep right now could be easily converted into your own private gold mine, with little extra effort on your part.

Keep in mind that content is key.  Converting a free blog into a money making blog is a long difficult process, but one that you complete by putting the work in.  Make sure that your blog has an attractive and visually appealing template.  Something that makes a user feel comfortable, and that allows your blog to be easily read.  A safe bet is to use cooler colors, as they are more calming, instead of anything too vibrant.

Your writing will also need a little bit of an upgrade as well.  You’re not just writing for yourself anymore, you’re writing to get people to find your blog and remain interested.  That means you have to write concise, not overly long, and entertaining entries.  Let your unique voice and personality shine, and make sure not to write entries that are too long.  Readers want to be entertained, but long articles can leave most doubting whether or not they want to read what’s written.

From there you should be able to steadily build an audience.  You want to pay attention to traffic and the amount of time the average user is on your site.  You can find resources for this through services like Google’s Analytics.  See what content inspires interest, and try and build on your good stats by writing to those strengths.

Now you should be ready to make a little money.  Use programs like Google’s Adsense, and look to websites like Amazon.com which offer payment for affiliate links.  Through these you can start earning money off the traffic from your blog.  Just remember, the longer you keep someone on the page, the more impressions and likelihood of clicks you’re going to get.  You want as much as possible of both.  With grabbing headlines and engaging content, you should be well on your way.

Making Passive Income To Increase Your Savings http://itlist.com/making-passive-income-to-increase-your-savings/ http://itlist.com/making-passive-income-to-increase-your-savings/#comments Thu, 22 Oct 2009 18:28:52 +0000 SamElli http://itlist.com/?p=1876 Making passive income beside having a regular full time job is a great way to save money.  Making passive income can help you retire earlier, live more comfortably, or just have a nice savings for a rainy day.  You never know when a rainy day could come in a recession like this.  So developing a passive income flowing into your bank account is a pretty good idea.

One good way to develop a little bit of money easily is through writing articles online.  There are a variety of websites that pay decently for articles.  You can find them fairly easily through any search engine, or job search engine.  They don’t usually pay enough for you to make a living from the articles alone, but they are quick to complete and pay a decent rate.  As these pile up over the years you’ll find your savings growing, and writing is a lot of fun.

Try blogging on for size.  A blog is a great way to build up a little money through advertising.  As long as you write quality content that keeps people reading, you’ll be successful.  Just network yourself, and use a program like Google’s Adsense to make the most out of your money.  They pay fairly well, and a successful blog could end up making you more money than your day job.

Finally, if you put in the work in article writing or blog writing, another great way to make extra money through those is through affiliate marketing.  This is where a company actually pays you to talk about their product.  You have to have a fairly popular blog, or be renown for your articles, but it’s a fast way to earn a lot of cash quickly.  Plus usually you get free products so that you can try them out before you write about them.  That’s a win-win scenario, and it puts more money in your savings account.

Preparing For An IT Interview http://itlist.com/preparing-for-an-it-interview/ http://itlist.com/preparing-for-an-it-interview/#comments Mon, 14 Sep 2009 18:01:22 +0000 SamElli http://itlist.com/?p=1680 Preparing for an interview in information technology can be a little bit different than your standard interview in a few ways.  So preparation is key so that you may excel in the interview, and be ready for anything you are not expecting.  Make sure you start things off with the standard professional demeanor.  Stay positive, smile, dress for success, and make sure you have your firm steady hand shake carried with you.

You need confidence in an IT interview, while this is true of any interview, for IT it’s especially important.  Information technology is a field that’s in constant flux, so your confidence in your ability to keep on top of that ever changing mountain is vital.  Part of IT is having very good organizational skills, so show that by having prepared questions with you at the interview.  Also, take a few notes about the important aspects of the job, and the answers to your questions.  This will show that you have a real interest in what’s going on, and the position available.

Be prepared for the questions you are going to be asked, and make sure you don’t fumble for an answer.  You should be expected to be asked basic questions about basic computer networking, as well as the more advanced.  So make sure you know your stuff, and that all of your knowledge is absolutely current.  Nothing will look worse than struggling to answer a question, or having an answer that’s out of date.

Finally, make sure you develop good informed questions, that are specific to the company to which you are applying.  Try a few challenging ones specific to the field, or discussing new technology, or techniques.  Anything that helps you look informed, as well as interested in the company.  You want to appear interested in working for this employer, and you want to showcase your knowledge and value.  Good questions do that better than you would believe.

Would You Mind Redressing Your Gmail? http://itlist.com/would-you-mind-redressing-your-gmail/ http://itlist.com/would-you-mind-redressing-your-gmail/#comments Wed, 09 Sep 2009 22:35:53 +0000 bikram http://itlist.com/?p=1653 If you use Firefox and you are not satisfied with the looks of your Gmail, not even after applying the themes supplied by Google then there is a piece of good news for you; no, I am not asking you to create your own theme. All I am asking you to install a plug-in (add-on) called Google Redesigned in your Firefox.

This add-on is completely safe to use. I have been using it for some days now. This is CSS-based redesigning plug-in. When you visit your Gmail in Firefox the plug-in that remains hidden otherwise in the background recognizes Gmail, and replaces the basic theme – you cannot use Google Redesigned, if you have installed some other theme – and changes the appearance of your Gmail.

Google Redesigned does take a little bit of resources and bandwidth, though. It connects to the Internet to keep itself updated and fit. You do not need to be alarmed, the plug-in has no access to any of your private data, and nor does it change the functionality of Google. All it can do is change the appearance of a Gmail account in Firefox.

It can also change the appearances of Google Calendar and Google Reader. I must say, not everyone likes what I like, so you should try the plug-in for yourself and see how the Gmail appears to you. This is another open source wonder.

I would encourage you to share your view here about your experience with this plug-in. Why don’t you use the comment box and tell us about your take on this Firefox plug-in?

Never Pad Your Resume http://itlist.com/never-pad-your-resume/ http://itlist.com/never-pad-your-resume/#comments Mon, 31 Aug 2009 21:17:06 +0000 SamElli http://itlist.com/?p=1624 When writing your resume, it’s fairly normal to feel disappointed with the way that your work history, or academic accomplishments appear.  No matter how many of either you  have to add, the anxiety of searching for a new job can make you feel as though your resume just doesn’t measure up.  So many people choose to ‘pad’ their resumes, to make a more respectable document, more likely to garner the attention of potential employers.  But more often than not, that’s a very bad idea.

In case you didn’t know the term, padding your resume refers to adding accolades that aren’t true about yourself.  Whether it be false work history items, or false educational accomplishments, or even dishonest community contributions.  All are considered padding, and are wrong in the sense that you are being dishonest to companies that you are trying to attract.  Nothing really sets you on the wrong foot with a new company more than them discovering you lied in order to get the job.

Which is why if you are unhappy about how something appears on your resume, you should take advantage of explaining yourself in your cover letter.  If you don’t like a particular gap in your employment history, you have ample opportunity to put a positive spin on things through your cover letter.  The same with anything else you feel uncomfortable about, whether it be education, etc.

But mainly, padding is bad because it sets a bad precedent for your new job.  Even if you get the job, you’re not presenting yourself correctly.  That puts you and your company in an awkward position, as tasks you don’t have the skill to accomplish may be expected of you, and your new company is getting an employee that doesn’t have the skill set expected of them.  If it’s found out you lied on your resume, most places won’t hesitate to terminate you immediately, so that little bit of padding can really come back to bite you.

Relax At Work http://itlist.com/relax-at-work/ http://itlist.com/relax-at-work/#comments Wed, 29 Jul 2009 20:11:19 +0000 SamElli http://itlist.com/?p=1524 Part of workplace stress is the inability to calm down while you’re under pressure, and just let yourself relax a little bit.  Being too stressed then negatively affects your performance, and you begin to produce work that isn’t up to the standard it could be.  Much the same way that stress affects you negatively in all aspects of life, your body isn’t going to deliver in the best way possible if you are overstressed.  Of course a little bit of stress is a good thing for your health, but too much is always bad, which is why you need to be able to unwind when you’re feeling too stressed out.  Learning to relax quickly and quietly at work is one of those things that everyone needs to learn how to do effectively.

Of course on of the easiest strategies is to take a short break if you’re feeling particularly frustrated.  Take 5-10 minutes to yourself if you’ve been frustrated working on the same problem for a long period of time without making any headway.  This way you can leave the problem, focus on something else for a minute, and you can then reenter the situation with a new perspective.

Another way to keep relaxed is to clear out any unnecessary clutter from your environment, to create a clean and concise work area that makes you feel more productive.  Bogging yourself down with cluttered items just makes you feel more trapped and overwhelmed adding to you stress level.  Which is exactly why adding plants is a good idea, as it will provide you with fresh air and more healthy natural feel to your office area.

Get a comfortable chair, it’s no use having to work for 8-9 hours in a day on an uncomfortable chair.  A comfortable body is a more relaxed body, and the more calm and relaxed that you can be, the better you’re going to feel, and that will translate into your performance.

Finally personalize your workplace.  Find out what you are able to bring in, or hang up around your cubicle, and make sure everything is office appropriate, but still make the area yours.  By letting your personality flow throughout your surroundings your identity remains unique and true to your character, taking away a little more of the corporate world stress.
