Good cooking just requires immense interest and passion for cooking and thirst for learning new recipes, patience, and love for food. If you don’t know exactly where to start from, here are some helpful guidelines for you to start with and slowly gain mastery over culinary skills.

An elementary cooking book

If you are thinking of specializing in an area of culinary like – Chinese, Mexican, Japanese recipes; start from the beginning. Buy a cooking book of the same. Don’t buy too advanced book, it will confuse you and you will not be able to follow many instructions. Buy an elementary book, meant for the beginners. It will be detailed and will also help you to learn cooking easily. Do research about cooking books before buying them, you may also ask a chef. Slowly once you master an area, choose another area of specialization.

Get inspired from someone in person

Quite often it’s seen that cooking aspirants are inspired and motivated by renowned chefs. But such chefs are mostly out of your reach, try to find someone in your surrounding whom you are close to and have access to his or her personal life. You will learn more this way. Find someone whose culinary skill you just die for. Make sure you turn friends and visit him or her often and take some culinary tips and secret recipes. Seeing with own eyes will make you learn faster.

Follow cookery shows on television

Always reading may not help you, seeing live demo will help you to learn faster. Why not learn from the masters of cooking? Watch cookery shows coming on television. Follow them regularly, you will learn really fast. Follow their methodology blindly in the beginning; slowly you may customize the recipes.

Trial and error method

Self-help is the best help. Don’t worry about the outcome, cook whatever you wish to. Mix and match ingredients, put spices and ingredients which you think will go well together. It may excel or turn out to be a disaster. But this is how you will learn and also come up with own recipes. Make in small quantities whenever you are experimenting.

What are you waiting for? Step into kitchen and get going.

Best-Kept Secret Twitter Tips for Job Search (Part 4) http://itlist.com/best-kept-secret-twitter-tips-for-job-search-part-4/ http://itlist.com/best-kept-secret-twitter-tips-for-job-search-part-4/#comments Mon, 12 Apr 2010 03:19:27 +0000 bikram http://itlist.com/best-kept-secret-twitter-tips-for-job-search-part-4/ So far in the series, we have talked about branding your profile on twitter through customizing your background, setting your URL, and writing your Bio, etc. In the fourth part of twitter tips series, I am going to talk the content part of branding. I will tell you how you can keep yourself in the good book of your prospective employers by being responsible in twitter usage.

First tweet then follow

What most people do after joining twitter is they start following as many people as they can and as soon as they can. This is a very bad strategy to increase your twitter follower count. A good one is to start with posting informative and entertaining tweets followed by following people in the fields of your interest. This way you will get more active followers who will give you more opportunity.

No spamming please

Do not start tweeting in bulk as people with “spammer” tag does. Act with moderation and tweet only what is really, really important. If you want people to hire you for a job then do not post stuffs that will take away from your image.

Talking of quality content, I will recommend you to record a video of you talking about what you do, what is your qualification, and how much work experience you have, etc., and tweet this video cover letter once or twice a day.

Do not act desperate

This will not do any good. Tweeting too much may force people to ignore you, if not unfollow you. There is no need to post your résumé five times a day. Tweet your résumé or video cover letter maximum twice a day. That is enough.

You should not deviate from this tweeting practice for even a single day. Have patience, result will come.

The Real Way To Work From Home http://itlist.com/the-real-way-to-work-from-home/ http://itlist.com/the-real-way-to-work-from-home/#comments Wed, 06 Jan 2010 20:06:46 +0000 SamElli http://itlist.com/?p=2158 Working from home is not easy, and contrary to what many people will say, is really hard work.  Another difficult part of the equation, is finding work that realistically allows you to work from home.  You have to know how to find what’s out there, which opportunities are real, and which job listings are scams that should be avoided.  Working from home is a world full of pitfalls, but if you’re intelligent, careful, and hard working, it’s a task that can be accomplished.

As with any business venture, networking is key.  Tapping into the world, meeting others looking to form careers in the same area is key.  This will give you an in to what jobs are available, and what jobs are worth applying for.  Work from home forums or websites can be good resources.  Use them, because networking oftentimes determines how successful you become.

Also, know how to spot a scam.  This is especially important when starting out.  Most scams involve asking for money in order for an opportunity to provide you with work or resources.  Never give them anything, because more often than not these are scams.  You’ll pay money, and get nothing, or no job opportunities in return.  A legitimate employer is never going to ask you to pay money in order to secure an opportunity.

In your search, remember that patience is key.  You may find difficulty finding an opportunity at first, and it may take some time to form legitimate ones.  But as long as you’re diligent, eventually you’ll find something.  Once you find one job, you’re usually good to find a few more, easier than last time.
Remember that you’re going to make mistakes, but don’t let that stop you from soldiering on.   The difference between success and failure is the amount of effort you are willing to extend.

How to clean your Laptop or PC http://itlist.com/how-to-clean-your-laptop-or-pc/ http://itlist.com/how-to-clean-your-laptop-or-pc/#comments Tue, 06 Jan 2009 02:33:08 +0000 Janeita http://itlist.com/?p=96 While there is much talk about programs to protect your computer from hackers and viruses, we forget the external element of the computer, the hardware. When was the last time you took the time out to clean your computer? If you have to dig in the drawers of your memory then it is obvious is is time for some computer cleaning.

The hardware is the first component of the computer that we come in contact with and care should be taken to keep it clean. This not only increase ones productivity it also is a healthy approach.Imagine touching a mouse that has layers of grease from centuries and centuries of sticky finger contacts, or a keyboard that has tons of overnight snacks embedded between it´s keys, this obviously is a cause for alarm.

The steps to clean ones hardware does not not involve any special product than the simple traditional methods of a soft brush,a little water and maybe a piece of cloth .It is important that a day is set aside to do this so as to avoid disturbance during the process. There also has to be an established order in mind to know which parts you intend to clean first.

After unplugging all components and and an order has been mentally established to clean the different components, all that is left now is patience. The keyboard which is basically the ‘hands’ of the whole system can suffer alterations if dust and crumbs are not taken from it quickly. To remove dirt from the keyboard one can use a professional keyboard cleaner that has been adapted justly for this purpose. Turning the Keyboard over on a piece of paper and gently shaking it to remove all accumulated dust ,one then passes a soft brush to remove any excess dirt on the outside of the Keyboard. The same applies for Laptops.

The monitor and the CPU can both be cleaned using a non-abrasive cloth to remove any excess of dirt. Areas like the USB ports generally have accumulated dust and once again the use of a small soft brush is handy. For those you wish to use a professional Laptop screen cleaner , this is highly optional, but one will achieve the same results with simple conventional methods. The aim of all of this is that you clean and not destroy while cleaning.

The mouse is another gadget that allows us to enjoy an efficient user interface with our system and with the realms beyond(Internet).Excess dust and grime will compromise it´s function and you will notice this based on the time response it gives when you move it. Care should be taken in opening it and a soft bush should be used so as to not damage it.

There is no need to open the casing of the CPU nor the Laptop. All that requires cleaning resides on the external part of the casing. If you are not a professional, opening may void all warranty rights and you may unintentionally damage some internal part. The use of cotton to clean is a good option but I prefer a brush.
