Service provider may be an advertising agency or printing agency, office furniture provider or security service provider. Every service provider comes with its own standard of operation and respective job requirement; but basic expectations from clients remain same everywhere.

These are the few requirements clients consider mandatory from its service providers.

Authenticity

Clients always look for authentic companies, who are in the business since long and have earned good reputation in the same. If company is new, inexperienced and can’t be traced easily client may not approach it.

Good image

Clients never wish to get associated with a service provider who has bad name in the market; since association with controversial companies also bring bad name in the industry. Choosing a prestigious company is very important for any client.

Competitive edge

Every client wants to remain ahead of its competitors whether in terms of office space décor or in stationary designs. It is not only an ego boost for the client, but also they love to talk about its service provider to all. If you wish your clients to stay with you for long time, always make sure you give something more than your competitors. Don’t compromise with the quality and never stop innovating something new.

Meeting deadline

Working within the stipulated timeframe is very important aspect of any business. Even if you are an excellent service provider with exceptional standard of quality, but you fail to give work on time clients may blacklist you forever. If client gives a deadline to its service provider, it definitely involves lot of thinking.

Recognition

Clients look for recognized service provider. It can be recognition from an international council or government body or any well known institution. Clients hesitate to take risk of being associated with an unapproved or unrecognized company. It can also be recognition from well known personality.

Affordable

Last but not the least, most of the clients prefer to keep their expenses as low as possible. Even if the service provider is excellent clients hesitate to pay a premium price for that. Clients may agree to pay little more than the industry standard rate, but not exorbitant.

5S Principle of Web Hosting http://itlist.com/5s-principle-of-web-hosting/ http://itlist.com/5s-principle-of-web-hosting/#comments Thu, 18 Mar 2010 03:30:36 +0000 bikram http://itlist.com/5s-principle-of-web-hosting/ A lot depend upon a web host, when it comes to starting a business online. Therefore, you need to a pay close attention to the quality of a web host to opt for. Only money should not become the basis of your judgment because what looks cheap may cost you dearly in the long run.

Will you like to have a website that is down half of the time?

I hope not. For that matter, I have decided to outline 5S principles of web hosting, and will ask you to verify a web hosting account on all these parameters during your purchase process. Yes, money matters, but not as much as these do.

5S of Web Hosting

Swift: Speed is the essence of our time, so this not something on which you should compromise. A slow website is as good as dead. And the speed of your website does not only depend upon the code and the design of your website, but it also depends upon the strength of your web host. If your web host uses state-of-the-art technology and data center then your website will be faster.

Stable: How good a rocket-fuel-propelled website will be if it gets down even now and then? Your speed only matters if your website is live. For a website that is down often, it does not matter how speedy it is when it is live. You need to go for a webhost that gives 99.99% uptime—everyone writes that, but very few delivers, so check their credibility.

Secure: Who does not know the risk of venturing out on the Internet? There are viruses, spywares, malwares, trojans, and other types of malicious codes as well as hacker, crackers, spammers, etc., to crack into your website and take control of it. Hence, security is not something you should compromise on. See if the web hosting account you are using is secure or not.

Support: Ideally, I would like to suggest you to go for the one that never fails, but you also know that this suggestion will not take you anywhere because there is nothing like never-failing system. I would rather ask you to go with the web hosting company that has a strong support system to help you in case of eventuality. You should not be made to wait in queue for hours, if not days, when you need them.

Service: Agility and nimbleness of service and delivery is another thing that you need to look for in a web hosting service provider. Do not go for the ones that are too slow in responding your queries, or system of which is not fast enough.

Filter a web hosting company through this, and what you get is a strong, reliable, seldom-failing web host. And after all this, you should think of price of the service.

Recommendation: I would suggest you to check Gossimer’s the Ultimate Web Hosting
account as it has everything that you are going to need in your web hosting account.

Using Google Adwords To Drive Traffic http://itlist.com/using-google-adwords-to-drive-traffic/ http://itlist.com/using-google-adwords-to-drive-traffic/#comments Tue, 26 Jan 2010 20:42:19 +0000 SamElli http://itlist.com/?p=2252 Using Google Adwords to drive traffic to your website is a great idea.  But there are also a lot of pitfalls that can harm your campaign, and cause all of your efforts to fail.  Using Adwords is somewhat a fine tuned science.  Google Adwords allows you to pay a nominal fee via Google’s service, for every time a webpage reader clicks on your advertisement.  Your ads will go on corresponding pages that relate to your content, based upon which keywords you choose.  The main thing to understand about Adwords is that you want to carefully target your campaign, otherwise you run the risk of paying for clicks that aren’t worth the money.

-Using too many keywords is one of the number one mistakes that many Adwords users make.  You want to stay away from generic keywords, and stick only to keywords that directly pertain to your ad.  Otherwise you’ll have a lot of clicks from readers that were misled, that don’t amount to anything.

-Remember to use your relevant keywords in your ad title and description.  A big mistake is forgetting to do this, and then you have an ad that doesn’t seem to pertain to what a reader is currently surfing.  The whole point of Adwords is to hitch onto keywords on other sites for your ads.  Leaving those keywords out means that your ad is less likely to be noticed.

-Walk that fine line between clarity and keyword density.  Your keyword should be prevalent so that any searchers have no trouble running into your ad, but don’t overload your statements so that the keyword is senselessly repeated too many times.

-Always track your results, if one keyword set up isn’t working switch to a different one.  There’s no sense in continuing a campaign that hasn’t been fruitful.  That’s just beating a dead horse.  Instead, try different things if you’re not seeing the results you want.

Saving For Retirement Early http://itlist.com/saving-for-retirement-early/ http://itlist.com/saving-for-retirement-early/#comments Tue, 12 Jan 2010 17:54:21 +0000 SamElli http://itlist.com/?p=2179 You’re never too young to save for your retirement.  That’s something that not everyone realizes.  But how you plan for you retirement in your 20s and 30s can help determine the quality of your life after retirement.  The more planning the better, especially if you want to retire early and ensure that you have the money available to lead the life you want, after work.

Saving is the best way to start.  Determine an acceptable percentage of each paycheck that you want to set aside in a savings account.  If you have direct deposit at your job, practically every bank offers you the ability to denote a percentage of each check automatically to your savings.  That way you’re saving money without really even consciously trying.  Remember, start small.  You don’t have to go crazy to save a lot of money.  This is a long term strategy, so a little now will add up over the long run.

When you’ve started building up a decent amount of money in your savings account, think about making that money work for you.  If you’re money is sitting in savings, it isn’t really doing anything.  Consider putting some of that into long term stock or bond investments.  Something practically guaranteed to make your money grow.  There’s always some risk involved, so don’t over invest, but definitely take a few steps to build on what you have.

Finally, try not to frivolously spend your money.  That doesn’t mean being frugal your whole life so you can finally spend in your 50s.  But rather, don’t make purchases you can’t afford, and don’t use credit to live beyond your means.  Both catch up with you faster than you’d think, and will hurt your retirement in the long run.  Be intelligent with your money.  If you have to wait a few weeks for something you want to fit in the budget, be patient.  You’ll be better off in the long run.

Make The Most Of A Job You Hate http://itlist.com/make-the-most-of-a-job-you-hate/ http://itlist.com/make-the-most-of-a-job-you-hate/#comments Fri, 18 Dec 2009 04:59:41 +0000 SamElli http://itlist.com/?p=2102 The recession is supposed to be over, but the jobs have been slow to return.  This is a huge conundrum if you find yourself stuck in a job that you hate.  You can’t really afford to quit and risk the gamble of finding work with few jobs available.  How do you manage being stuck between the perpetual rock and a hard place?  Well, here are a few tips for making that easier.

-Try thinking positively about the job you hate.  Consider the positive parts, such as the fact that you are lucky enough to have a job during this turmoil.  The fact that you have reliable enough work that you’ve stayed employed, and have been able to live more comfortably than many other Americans.  Thinking about your good fortune is a great way to bring that smile out.

-Set time limits on your tasks, to see if you can accomplish your goals.  This is almost a tactic to make a game out of the monotony you may suffer if you hate your job.  Also this helps you get faster, and better at accomplishing your tasks.  The appearance of becoming a better, harder worker, could help you advance into a higher position that you won’t hate.

-Take an interest in your coworkers.  Make friends, and be positive and good natured with them.  Creating a better work environment around you can really help how you feel at work.  A great way to do that is improve your relations with those around you, creating a friendly environment that you can enjoy.

-Finally, just because you have a job, doesn’t mean you can’t look for a different one.  Try looking for other opportunities that may serve you better.  Something that you can really get into, and have a true passion for, unlike your current job.  Just make sure to keep that knowledge silent, as some employers take personal offence when their employees look for work elsewhere.  The last thing you want is to lose the job you have, because you were looking for a different one.

Pre-Interview Preparation http://itlist.com/pre-interview-preparation/ http://itlist.com/pre-interview-preparation/#comments Fri, 09 Oct 2009 18:48:09 +0000 SamElli http://itlist.com/?p=1817 How you prepare for an interview can be just as important as what you do in the actual interview.  The way you prepare can dictate how you are received.  Not preparing well could be the difference between getting a job, and sealing your fate to rejection.  The importance of the little things cannot be understated.  So you should remember that, when you’re getting ready for that next interview.

Everything starts in the phone call that you receive, notifying you that you’ve been chosen for an interview.  Make sure that you write down the information on when and where the interview will be taking place.  Jot down the time as well.  Then make sure to find out any documentation that you need to bring to interview.  Before ending the conversation, make sure to double check the time and place, and the documents you’ll need.  The worst first impression you can make for an interview, is to show up late.

If you aren’t already familiar with the location of the interview, it’s a good idea to look up directions and do a run through.  See how long it takes to get to the interview site, and learn the route.  That way when the day comes you don’t risk being late by aimlessly looking for the location, or getting into unexpected traffic.

Now to the interview outfit.  It’s best to pick your outfit in advance, so that you know what you are going to wear, and aren’t forced to figure anything at the last minute.  Choose something professional, that’s clean and tidy.  An outfit that fits you well, and that is free of stains or tears.

Finally, on the day of the interview, be sure to leave early.  The worst thing you can do at an interview, is show up late.  Many interviewers won’t hire an applicant that can’t show up to an interview on time.  Keep that on time, and show up 10-15 minutes early.  That way you show yourself to be prepared, and committed to the job opportunity.

5 More Ways to Improve Your Writing Part-XI http://itlist.com/5-more-ways-to-improve-your-writing-part-xi/ http://itlist.com/5-more-ways-to-improve-your-writing-part-xi/#comments Fri, 02 Oct 2009 23:56:35 +0000 bikram http://itlist.com/?p=1777 We have come a long was in this series, and in the process we have learned quite a few things. We have covered from timing to inspiration to description to techniques to tools of writing. Each one of them was important, and so are the tips I am going to share in this part. In this part of the 5 Ways to Improve Your Writing series, I will tell you about quality; about how you can maintain the quality of your writing. Let’s begin with shedding inhibition for risks.

Take risks

Do not always play a safe game; rather, never play a safe game. Take risks and explore the terrain. You will not learn new things about life, about new ways to construct sentences, and will never get new ideas to write about until you venture out and take risk. Try different construction; try different storyline; so what if you fail!

Revisit your write-ups

Reading and analyzing what you have written in the past is another way to ensure quality of your future writing. You should have a sense of history. You should know from where you started and how far have you come, and then only you can realistically decide where you can go from here.

Rope in your friend

This advice is the toughest to follow because no matter how good your friendship is, he or she will not like to do proofreading for you, at least not readily. My friends have never done that for me, and neither have I put myself through the grueling session of proofreading for my friends. You got the clue, but still you need to talk your friend into proofreading your stuff. If they don’t agree then you have not tried hard enough.

Take a break

Writing is not like producing soap in the factory. You cannot just keep on pouring oil and chemicals for hours, even when you are tired and exhausted, to get the final product. To write well, you need to take breaks between your writing. Play games, watch TV, listen to music, or do whatever you like, but take breaks.

Take a break then return to proofread

Do not proofread your document right after finishing it. You will miss out many errors because your mind was primed by the article. Take a break 10-20 minutes and then come back to do the proofreading. Please do not think about what you wrote during the break.

Signs You Should Look For A New Job http://itlist.com/signs-you-should-look-for-a-new-job/ http://itlist.com/signs-you-should-look-for-a-new-job/#comments Wed, 08 Jul 2009 19:50:10 +0000 SamElli http://itlist.com/?p=1444 One part of working for a company that many people seem to forget about when questions of loyalty come into the mix, is when you should call it quits, and decide to leave the company that’s been fruitful for you in the past.  Sometimes you hit a plateau, and find that you just can’t grow any more at your job, or sometimes you complete a large product and find yourself struggling to look for other tasks you can complete to justify your paycheck.  But there are a few warning signs you should be aware of that will let you know you may want to begin getting that resume ready, whether you believe you’re going to be let go, or if you’re just looking to further your career elsewhere.

One sign that’s fairly easy to spot is if your company is in trouble.  Every company is in a relative amount of trouble, given the global recession that’s been battering the world for quite a while now, but if your company is in dire risk of bankruptcy, it’s a good time to think about abandoning ship.

If your company has just recently been turned over to a new CEO, or if you see new leaders at a lower level begin to be negotiated into the company, it’s a good time to think about leaving.  The problem with new faces, is that they bring in more new faces that they’ve been familiar working with in the past.  Chances are you don’t factor in to their plans, as they don’t know you, and most managers would prefer not to spend time learning how to work with new people, when they can let you go and hire a past employee at the new company.

You hit the plateau at any given company for your skill set.  If you’ve gone as high up the ladder as your education/skill set will provide for, it’s time to get looking for a new job.  Chances are, even if it’s the same level position with another corporation, you may be able to get a larger salary.  The chance to renegotiate pay with a well proven set of skills is always an opportunity you should take, and the new corporation will offer you new challenges and the ability to add a new credit to your resume.

Your boss or corporation fails to fulfill a promise that they had made to you during an interview, or early on in your hiring process.  These mean promises not put into writing as an actual contract, but something verbally promised to you.  Whether that means a certain amount of money you should be making over a set length of time, or a promotion you should receive within a set amount of time.  Whenever these promises are not met, they’re leading you on, and it’s time to find the exit as soon as possible to put your energy towards pursuing a more meaningful opportunity with a company that doesn’t lie to you.
