07 Jul 11 Tips for Web Promotion of Budget Hotel

A budget hotel has a high level of demand in every place, since there is always a big segment of people who travel with a tight budget yet wish to enjoy vacations. These days, many people with limited budget do an online research before setting out for the vacation with family and friends. The reason can be many – they don’t wish to end up in an expensive hotel for lack of information about availability of budget hotel, time wastage etc. If you have a budget hotel and wish to get more and more visitors, try to promote it online. Here are some guidelines.

SEO

Foremost important thing for selling is getting seen or heard. This rule applies for your business too. If people are looking for budget hotels on Internet, and your hotel is not listed, you have already lost the battle. Who will know about you and come to you if you are not getting seen or heard? So, start search engine optimization of your website. Use keywords effectively in your websites or blogs, and make sure you have a high ranking in search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing etc.

Get listed in travel websites

People may not land up in your website or do a direct search; they may go to popular travel portals. So you need to tie up with all good travel portals. At the cost of some expense you can reap huge response from these sites. Online flight and hotel booking sites are to be considered as well. Not only people may get to know about you and contact you; but may also do online booking right from the travel portals. You may pay some commission to the intermediate site in between, but it is worth of money spent.

Some positive reviews can be helpful

Some positive reviews by past visitors can be extremely helpful for you. Your website may carry some real good reviews and these should look authentic and original. Paid reviews may not help you in the long run.

Tariff should be clear

There shouldn’t be any confusion regarding the hotel room tariff. State it clearly, by mentioning the kind of room you are offering. You may put pictures along with rates, for further understanding of the prospect. If you are offering off-seasonal discount, mention that.

Facebook fan page

A Facebook fan page will not only keep your past visitors connected to you and promote repetitive visit, but also draw lot of new people. Keep updating your fan page with latest happenings, events, offerings, rates etc.

What are waiting for? Get started with the online promotion.

18 Feb 11 How to crack a Group Discussion Successfully?

Group discussion is an opportunity to prove your ability, competence, team behavior, language skill, knowledge before the observer. Every modern job interview selection process or academic selection procedure is incomplete without the group discussion session. Even a successful candidate of personal interview and written test may miserably fail in group discussion session. So don’t let the group discussion opportunity slip off your hands. Make the most of it. Here are few tips for your help.

Don’t talk just for the sake of talking

It’s often noticed that people talk during the group discussion session, just for the sake of grabbing attention. It makes one look stupid and also shows lack of depth of knowledge. Talk only when you know enough about the topic in hand and you are confident. If you are not sure of yourself, wait for others to start, find clues from their conversations and then raise your voice. Don’t talk pointlessly, trying hard to prove a point.

Don’t shout to make a point

Just to get heard among many heads often participants end up shouting on top of their voice to prove a point. Wait for the right opportunity, raise your hand and state your point. If someone interrupts in middle, ask the person to wait and let you finish first. Shouting just to get noticed and beat others will create sheer confusion and chaos.

Stick to the point

Often we deviate from the main issue and stretch the topic too far. Don’t go far away from the main topic in hand. If the topic is controversial and raises lot of discussion, talk either in favor or against the topic in hand. Don’t keep switching between the two. Make sure you stick to your point and don’t go stretch it too far. Maintain the time limit.

Good start, great end

We often think it’s important to grab attention in the beginning only and thus put maximum energy in starting the group discussion rather than concluding nicely towards the end. Never commit this mistake. First impression is definitely the last impression, but an end moment fuss or ambiguity can tarnish the whole thing. So make sure, you are not only noticed in the beginning, but also equally heard and noticed towards the end. When time comes towards end, nicely wrap your message in an impressive conclusion. It will help you to leave a long lasting impression.

21 Mar 10 3 Questions to Ask During Your Job Interview Even When You Are Desperate

Many people sit on the interview table with a set notion that it is the job of person (s) on the other side of the table to pose question, and their job is limited to providing right answers to questions asked to them. Nothing could be more wrong than this. An interview is not your viva that happened in your school and/or college. It is an opportunity for both the parties to know each other and see if both of you are compatible or not. To this end, both parties need to ask questions. Till now, I have talked a lot about how to properly answer your interviewer. In this article, I will talk about 3 important questions you must ask your interviewer even when you are desperate to get the job.

Question 1: Role and responsibility

This seems obvious, but it is not. The exact role of a sales engineer in one company can be slightly or completely different from the roles and responsibilities of the person on similar job in other company. This applies for all kinds of jobs. Therefore, it is imperative to ask about the role you are expected to play and responsibilities you have to take should you get the job. This will remove the blind spot and help you decide.

Question 2: Whom you will report to

Another seemingly obvious question that cease to sound obvious the moment you step through the giant door of your office on the first day. Save the horror of confusion and sounding horribly stupid by asking this question during your interview. This knowledge will also save you from workplace bullies who like to corner every unprepared newcomer.

Question 3: Work hours

Ask your interviewer what is a typical work hour for a person in your position in the company. Ask for a realistic answer. Do not believe when they say is 9 to 5 or 9 to 6 because it is never so. Work may starts from 9 or 10 or whatever, but never gets over at 5 or 6 or whatever is told to you. The world out there is very competitive, so to keep pace people work for long hours. Hence, you need to ask about work hours in real sense.

Could there be any question more important than these? Let me know your view on this subject.
